about

Still giddy from being mentioned in Neil Nixon's book "500 Albums You Won't Believe until you Hear Them", Stinky Picnic is back, with...

...HAMSTER WORLD!

Inspired free-form singing, strange doo-wop, folk-ballads, the sounds of simulated electronic haircuts, clanking metal drink bottles, psychedelic guitar loops, weird synths, oddly out-of-time drums, unexpected grinding trip hop intrusions, shoe-gaze navel-rock, plinking and plonking; this album has got it all.

Here are some quotes from Mr Nixon's summation of Stinky Picnic:

"Stinky Picnic work because the sheer love of making this music pours from the speakers, and in their musical language with each other the pair each reference their own ground and meet perfectly in the middle."

"Whether this is the best kids’ music around or the most defiantly indie act in Australia is beside the point, Stinky Picnic make outsider music sound like the most normal, unconditionally loving, activity available in the home, and that is life affirming for any listener."

Yay!

And here's what Mr Fab from Music for Maniacs says about the ol' Picnic:

"All music should be like this."

Enjoy!
